It turns out that studies show that owning pets can increase your health, but this especially applies to dogs.
A few years ago, there was a study conducted in the Czech Republic about heart disease.
Guess what the most amount of people with the LEAST history of heart disease all had in common?
Yup. They all had pups!
But that’s not all.
That study was published by the Mayo Clinic and was set to re-evaluate the participants every 5 years to check in on them up through the year 2030.
The most recent evaluation consisted of 1,769 people, none of whom had any history of heart disease.
Regardless of age, education level, or sex, the pet owners showed superior health to those who didn’t have any pets, with dog owners showing even more!
Dog owners were found to be:
- More physically active
- Geared towards better diets
- In possession of better blood glucose levels
Obviously, dogs are more active animals. Even when we’re feeling lazy, they’re not about to let us forget about their walks!
So if you’re looking for a live-in personal trainer who won’t pressure you to sign up for expensive training packages, the answer could be as close as your nearest shelter or pet store…
…just don’t follow their diet plans.
